The Gardenware Project

Give Beauty. Share Love. Spread Joy.

This month’s Tradition Pass It On Spotlight is shining on The Gardenware Project. The Gardenware Project is a budding non-profit organization with a mission to give beauty, share love and spread joy through the gift of flowers. Their trained volunteers (“Flower Buds”) create floral arrangements for residents at hospice and senior assisted living communities using donated flowers that they repurpose.

The Gardenware Project was founded by Amy Ware. Amy has been in the floral design business since 2006, which developed out of her passion for organic design and nature. In 2015, another seed was planted. Amy became a Lay Minister for seniors through her church, and with each visit she brought a bouquet of flowers. This became a source of joy and connection for both Amy and her senior friends.

A picture is worth a thousand words.

In the fall of 2017, Amy brought in her friend, Ann Lagorio who has a finance and operations background, to share in her vision. Since November 2017, when they initiated their first partnership with a local retailer, they have delivered their arrangements to local hospice and senior communities EVERY WEEK!
